Recap: San Antonio FC's Attack Proves Too Strong for Real Monarchs

In what may have been the most impressive offensive showing of San Antonio FC's young history, the home team defeated Real Monarchs 4-2. The much needed 3 points bumped San Antonio into 10th place for the upcoming week. Despite the positive result, SAFC is continuing to look forward and improve off of this game. Playoffs are within very close reach for them now so long as the efforts of tonight's match continue to show up through the rest of the season. "We're not happy where we are. Preview: San Antonio FC v Real Monarchs SLC

In the first of two consecutive home matches, San Antonio looks to bounce back from their 3-0 defeat last Saturday. The reigning Western Conference Champions, Real Monarchs SLC, are coming to Toyota Field for the first of two games this season. The Monarchs lead the Western Conference with 41 points. San Antonio enters the match in 11th place with 22 points. The teams faced each other twice last season, resulting in a 2-2 draw and a 2-1 San Antonio win. The Monarchs most recent result was a 2-0 win against Seattle Sounders FC 2. Despite Charlie Adams and Sebastian Velasquez both burying their shots into the bottom left corner, the team only had a 40% shot accuracy rating throughout the game. The vast majority of the Monarch's shots came inside the box. The team attempted 575 passes, well over 100 more than Seattle.
